Following the success we had with our API Talk event in February we are very pleased to say that we will be continuing with this programme. However, with the COVID-19 outbreak Axway will be adopting a responsible approach as a good corporate citizen to help protect the health and safety of our customers, partners, employees and others, so the API Talk programme will now be run on a virtual basis.

These online events are designed to help you learn about industry trends and gain an advantage when shaping your digital strategy.

We’ll bring you experts to present their views on where the industry is going and how your business can become a leader by taking advantage of new thinking and best practices.

Until further notice we will be running these online events monthly on a Thursday till the end of June 2020. We hope to return to the Lunch & Learn format when it is safe to do so.

Your journey to new digital experiences using APIs begins here:

Your API is a product, so why doesn’t it have a product manager?

Date: Thursday, May 28th

Time: 14:00 BST

We’re used to software products having beautiful user interfaces and we’ve seen a revolution in product design and management where we understand our customers better than ever. Developer experience is still a poor relation though, and most companies don’t treat their APIs the way they treat their UIs. Changing this is the key to delighting your users and getting the most from your APIs.

You’ll learn:

  • What your API consumers are desperate for but rarely get.
  • What success for an API should look like.
  • Why your internal APIs are as important as your customer facing services and how they can reduce risk in your transformation projects.

How secure is a secure API
Date: Thursday, June 25th
Time: 14:00 BST
32% all UK businesses reported a cyber security breach in the last 12 months. For most organisations, it takes an average of 6 months to detect a data breach. As a result, average share prices decline over 7%, cost businesses $150m, and 66% of consumers will stop doing business with those breached organisations. Even with solid security strategies, unexpected weak links can cause businesses to suffer embarrassing and financially destructive breaches, so how do you avoid becoming another hacking statistic?
You may have security in place, but is your data truly safe? In a GDPR world, this is more important than ever. In this talk we’ll talk about:

  • Lessons learnt from the industry.
  • What you can do to ensure that you don’t make tomorrow’s news.
  • How AI will transform API security.
